Absolute Wargames is a new blog about military tactics and their applications in strategy games, which is a brilliant topic. It’s also done in both French and English. Luc was kind enough to send us this article, the first half of his analysis of the Oblique Order and how it’s used in Rome: Total War and various games. For more, be sure to check out his blog. But in the meantime, read on!

We’ve been doing for three years and can’t imagine a better group of ghouls to be writing for. Here’s lookin’ at you, kids. In honor of this most terrifying holiday, we here at OSG1 have put together a special Halloween edition of our little blog publication. What follows is a no-holds-barred selection of a handful of our favorite horror games – strategy or otherwise – cherry-picked from varying genres such as old-school Point-and-Click, Adventure / Survival, 3rd Person and FPS. Read on, if you dare. …Boo!…
Hello fair readers. Has it really been that long? Well, let’s ease back in to things with a re-blog. Frugal Dad sent me this infographic thinking we’d be interested, and I think he’s right! Take a peek at this, and stay tuned for more articles coming soon.

It’s 2012, and welcome back to OSG1! We’ve been taking a break for the holidays, but now we’re ready to bring you the latest in browser based strategy games.
I’m actually quite happy to report that I’m actually surviving so far in the latest Travian Tournament (tx2.travian.com), thanks to my awesome sitter and another player who’se letting my troops keep the stools warm at his bar. I was also surprised to recently catch some new Travian ads in 3d! The first is an official ad, followed by what looks like a separate pass of a 3d Praetorian army just to show off their work. Check them Out
OSG1 is jumping into the OSG scene for the iOS platform! First game up: Roshambo. Onward to Roshambo
What if Grand Moff Tarkin was playing an Online Strategy Game? Happy Star Wars Day everybody.
It seemed the time was right for some Star Trek art. Gameforge released a bunch of wallpapers from their forthcoming Star Trek browser MMO, Infinite Space. The quality is top notch and I’m really interested to see what kind of game this turns out to be! You can grab the images from on the Facebook page for Ikariam or Infinite Space. Do me a favour and “like” OSG1 while you’re at it 😛
Also, John Martz put together pixel versions of Star Trek characters. If you’re a fan, it’s pretty fun trying to see how many you can recognize. He’s got a lot of characters on here. Pretty much the only two missings are the humpback whales from Star Trek IV.
First, an official congratulations to Ramdas for winning the MMO City Contest! Also a big thank you to everyone who participated and everyone who voted! I hope to be doing another similar contest soon.
I just stumbled across Targa Limited’s new game, Exoplanet War. From the screenshots it looks very much like Imperion, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to give it a try. It doesn’t hurt that the space orc chick is hot. But Wait, There’s More!
